Travel/Adventure

Why Travel?

Travel has always been a huge part of my life. I got my passport at 9 months old and I have used it every year.

My dad’s from Mexico and so we get to travel there for weddings and other family events almost every year.

Most of my friends go to sleepover camp for a few weeks every summer, and I have actually never been. While it sounds awesome, I always prefer to travel far away from home. My family and I travel for at least a month abroad every summer. I am lucky that my parents have flexible jobs and they have been able to work from anywhere (even before COVID).

What I love most about travel is to see the different cultures and meet different people. But, my favorite is the variety of food from the different places. Here are some shots of recent memorable trips.

San Miguel de Allende/Queretaro, Mexico

Cozumel & Isla Holbox, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Sayulita, Jalisco, Mexico

Nosara & Arenal, Costa Rica

Denver, Glenwood Springs, & Breckenridge, Colorado, USA

Adventure

My family is really into adventure travel. We spend a lot of time taking RVs around the state and sometimes around the country to visit national parks. Living in Central Texas gives us lots of access to beautiful spots to camp, hike and swim. Some of our favorite places include Big Bend National Park and the entire West Texas region, and camping and swimming in the Texas Hill Country.

My dad and I also take survival courses at Earth Native Wilderness School and this year I learned how to start a fire from friction, build a shelter, water purification, and animal trapping. We also love the ocean and in 2019 I got my first scuba diving certification. I have a goal to dive to 100 feet as soon as I am old enough! Below are some of my favorite photos from our adventures.
